- I'm a registered user of ShapeShifter and have been extremely happy with
- its performance and ability. I recently bought a JAZ drive, so I moved all
- my Amiga software off of the 105MB Rodime drive I had and decided to use it
- as a dedicated Mac drive. I had been using ShapeShifter on a FileDisk up
- until now.
-
- Made the disk and entire partition and rebooted. Brought up ShapeShifter,
- set the DeviceDisk to point to the Partition, and then booted up the Mac
- with the 7.5 Install diskettes. Installer started, but didn't give me an
- option to change the installation disk (ie. didn't see my hard drive).
-
- Figuring it might be a 7.5 problem, I tried again with 7.1 (which I have
- running on the FileDisk) and again didn't see the hard disk. I then deleted
- the PRAM file and tried again - same effect. I even deleted my Prefs file
- and tried again - with no effect.
-
- I've been able to access the SCSI CD-ROM, so I assume that my registration
- file works. When I select the partion I want from within the ShapeShifter
- startup menut, the devicedisk is set to scsi.device, id 0 (both which are
- correct), so I assume that ShapeShifter sees it.
-
- Question is why can't I install to the hard drive?
-
- Any advice/suggestions would be welcome.
